An article by ‘The Wire’ tries hard to so-called “fact check” the statement by Haryana Home Minister who stated that around “3000-4000 persons were held hostage in a temple” allegedly by Muslim rioters during the violence in Nuh on Monday(i.e, July 31st). The Wire claims that a priest of the same temple has refuted the allegations.
On speaking to The Wire, Deepak Sharma, the priest of the Nalhar Mahadev temple claimed that, “The flow of pilgrims in the temple is generally high in the month of Saawan (considered holy for Lord Shiva devotees). Because of the Shobha Yatra on Monday (that is considered a sacred day for Shiva’s devotees), the number of devotees was very high. They kept coming in and going out (after offering their prayers) during the Shobha Yatra.”
Double Fact Check
A 30-second video is making rounds in the social media, where we can hear the sounds of the bullets and also of the people who are trapped saying that the bullets were being fired from the hills. In the visuals people can be seen hiding beside their cars to protect themselves from the continuous bullets fired from the hills.
The Nalhar Mahadev Temple is located in Ferozepur Jhirka and Nalhad villages of Nuh district. It is surrounded by Aravalli hills on all sides and is believed to have existed since the time of the Pandava of Mahabharata.
Pre-planned Mewat attack
The Wire in its article mentioned a statement from Ramzan Chowdhary who claimed that, “social media videos, especially by Monu Manesar and Bittu Bajrangi who are seen making derogatory and humiliating remarks about the Muslims, led to severe tensions.”
In one of the exclusive reports of The Pamphlet, several screenshots from various social media platforms confirmed that the attack on the Shobha yatra in Nuh was a pre-planned one.
One Juned Singer Manisha, on his Facebook page, was giving live updates of VHP vehicles movements. A day prior to the Shobha Yatra, on a post by Juned, many Muslim Facebook users, especially residents of the Mewat region, had put up details of how they are prepared for Monu Manesar’s visit and left threatening messages like how he would be going to Mewat by his own free will but return only if they desire so.
Here are some of the comments on a now-deleted post by Juned.

Infact, an ivestigation by The Pamphlet also found that the Muslim residents of Mewat’s Nuh were prepared with gas cylinders, stones and other weapons to attack the Shobha Yatra.

About 35 vehicles were set on fire and as of now 4 people including 2 policemen were killed and hundreds more were injured. Policemen were also attacked with stones.
It is shameful on the part of such media agencies to water down this huge incidence of violence and blaming it on the communal disharmony and the religious procession by Hindus.
