Prime Minister has hit the nail on the head. Completely exposing Congress, PM Modi on Nov 1 made a series of tweets focusing on the grand old party’s fake promises usually in the run-up to the polls & how it was subsequently ruining the lives of common people.
He wrote on X which read – The Congress Party is realising the hard way that making unreal promises is easy but implementing them properly is tough or impossible. Campaign after campaign they promise things to the people, which they also know they will never be able to deliver. Now, they stand badly exposed in front of the people.
In his second tweet, the PM spoke on the poor fiscal health of Cong cong-ruled states of Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh & Telangana. He said the unfulfilled guarantees are a terrible deceit upon the people of these states.
PM subsequently urged the people of the country to remain vigilant against the Congress-sponsored culture of fake promises. He even referred to the recent Haryana poll verdict asserting that how the people of Haryana rejected their lies. He even pointed out how the Cong govt in Karnataka is going to roll back existing schemes. PM even mentioned how earlier Cong govt in Chhattisgarh & Rajasthan promised certain allowed which were never implemented in five years.
The Prime minister’s tweets come at a time when voices are being raised within Congress for reviewing guarantee schemes. The latest being the free bus travel “Shakti scheme” in Karnataka. Cong President Mallikarjun Kharge had to reprimand Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar for suggesting that the popular Shakti scheme of free bus travel — one of the five guarantees of Cong govt in the state — should be reviewed.
Congress today rules the states of Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh & Telangana. In all these three states, the grand old party rode to power promising a slew of freebies. These include free power travel, free power, monthly pensions and whatnot.
But after promising the moon and subsequently clinching power, Congress is now finding it hard to keep up to its promises. In the case of Himachal Pradesh, it was widely seen how the state congress government few months back was not even in a position to disburse salaries and pensions due to lack of funds.
Interestingly, even in the state of Jharkhand where the assembly poll process is underway, the shameless Congress along with its allies JMM & RJD is making one promise after another. A few days before the announcement of polls, CM Hemant Soren increased the honorarium of Maiyya Samman Yojana’ from the existing Rs Rs 1,000 per month to Rs 2500 per month, which would be given to new beneficiaries starting in December.
In the very month of August this year, JMM supremo & CM Hemant Soren while addressing a rally in Jamshedpur went on to promise that every family in Jharkhand will receive Rs 1 lakh if the JMM alliance is voted back to power in the state.
There is no denial to the fact that the Haryana verdict has certainly revealed that you can no more fool people based on fake promises. Gone are the days when Garibao Hatao was the slogan and the people used to vote on it.
