The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense Security and Clearance Commission, in its annual accountability report, has reiterated that they possess accurate information indicating that Pakistan is training ISIS members and has established centres for them in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The report further states that Pakistan’s aeroplanes are transporting ISIS recruits from Europe and certain Asian countries through Karachi and Islamabad airports and transferring them to their centres in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Taliban’s official address claims they have received information suggesting that in the coming months, these ISIS members might carry out attacks in various countries across the region and the world.
The report also highlights that over the past three years, one of the main targets of ISIS and certain other countries has been Afghanistan and the Taliban’s system, which, according to the Taliban, was achieved through great sacrifices. They claim these plans were intended to create issues and lead to the system’s collapse, but the Taliban thwarted such plans.
The Taliban commission claims that after targeting ISIS leaders and members within Afghanistan, they fled to a neighbouring country (Pakistan) and have restarted reorganization efforts with support and encouragement from there.
Despite this, the Taliban Commission has described the group’s activities as virtual and superficial but has issued a subtle warning to Pakistan to cease supporting and training this group.
Balochistan and the tribal areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are precisely the same places where, over the past 20 years, Pakistan’s military oversaw training camps and hideouts for the Taliban.
