More shocking details have emerged about the elaborate planning of attack and violence on the Shobha Yatra carried out by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal in Mewat region on 31 July, 2023. The Pamphlet is in possession of some screenshots of the conversation on Facebook where the elaborate planning and brainstorming on how to attack the procession took place.
It all started with ‘rumours’ that Monu Manesar, a Bajrang Dal activist and a gau rakshak, who is accused in death of two Muslim men, Junaid and Naseer, attending the Shobha Yatra in Nuh was spread on social media by some Muslim men. They got agitated and vowed revenge. This revenge then took form of elaborate planning and execution of attack on VHP procession in Nuh during the Shobha Yatra. This, when Monu Manesar had not even participated in the Shobha Yatra.
While a lot of social media posts about planning, execution and then celebration of attack, including live tracking of VHP vehicles and police vehicles have since been deleted, The Pamphlet is now in possession of some of the screenshots of conversation that took place on Facebook.
One Juned Singer Manisha, on his Facebook page, was giving live updates of VHP vehicles movements. A day prior to the Shobha Yatra, on a post by Juned, many Muslim Facebook users, especially residents of the Mewat region, had put up details of how they are prepared for Monu Manesar’s visit and left threatening messages like how he would be going to Mewat by his own free will but return only if they desire so.
Here are some of the comments on a now-deleted post by Juned.

As one can see, Ismail Khan is suggesting to keep track of which route Monu Manesar would take to reach Nuh. Why was Ismail Khan keeping tab on which route Monu would take? What was being planned? One Rihan Khan is commenting how he is also eagerly waiting for this ‘onion’ to ‘blast’. The Pamphlet has noted that earlier also ‘pyaaz’ or onion was used as a likely codeword for Monu Manesar. Aayan Aayan is posting how this opportunity should be used since what if one does not get such a chance again? Can this be interpreted as death threat?

One Mukeem Khan had posted how today will be the day of ‘moksh’, a Hindu term for someone who attains freedom from cycle of life and death, essentially an euphemism for death. Sameem Khan is suggesting how Monu would come as per his will but go as per Khan’s will. Md Rafeek is suggesting to welcome Monu such that he never forgets Mewat.

One Fajail Khan commented how this would be the ‘and’ (typo for end) of his (Monu). He even added laughing emoji. Others, like Rao Shab, Kadir Kd and some Itx Sokin Jara also suggested how they would like to ‘welcome’ Monu.

Naphis Khan is very peacefully suggesting to do ‘aar ya paar’ this time around. ‘Aar ya paar’ is a phrase to suggest a solution, so to say to a problem. Kasam Khan is using abusive term for Monu.

Waseem Khan very confidently suggesting that if Monu Manesar comes down to Mewat, he will not be spared. One Mohd Usama is also saying encouraging words to Rahees Khan Rangaliya. Rahees Khan Rangaliya was one of the Muslim men from Mewat who was posting live updates on his Facebook page of VHP and police vehicle movements.

Here, Rahees was giving live updates of the procession.

Here, Rock Pahal Wan is being a voice of reason and suggesting everyone to not take any step that could lead to trouble. However, while calls to violence was getting more and more encouragement, this appeal did not find a lot of takers.

Just some laughing emojis on calls to violence on Facebook.

More Muslim youth saying how they would go to Nuh and how they will deal with consequences (of attack, violence) later as per Allah’s will.

More comments baying for Monu Manesar’s blood.

One Shahrukh Khan is saying how this is the perfect time to take revenge. It has 180 reactions of laughing, heart and thumbs up.

More people challenging Monu Manesar to go to Mewat and threatening him.

One Badshah Waseem wanted to know the route of Monu Manesar reaching Mewat. What did he want to know his route for? Aasif Khan Meer also suggested how he is also on his way to Nuh. One Ansar taunted if Monu doesn’t have courage to go on his own.

Mast Monda commented “ʾinnā li-llāhi wa-ʾinnā ʾilayhi rājiʿūna” which is Arabic phrase mentioned in the Quran. It is popularly said by Muslims on someone’s death. That comment has over 260 reactions, with many being thumbs up and heart emojis, suggesting the people appreciated this statement.

Here are some comments which are suggesting that the ‘work is done’ – violence? These comments are from about less than a day back, around the time the violence erupted after the Muslim mobs attacked the Shobha Yatra. This is the celebration.

Here is another post on Juned Singer Manisha’s post where one Sahid Mahoniya has commented that the ‘welcome’ has been wonderful. Juned replied with ‘Insha Allah’ (if God wills).
On Monday, The Pamphlet had reported how the Muslim residents of Mewat’s Nuh were prepared with gas cylinders, stones and other weapons to attack the Shobha Yatra. About 35 vehicles were set on fire and as of now 4 people including 2 policemen were killed and hundreds more were injured. Policemen were also attacked with stones. Many took refuge in temples to save their lives.
Speaking to The Pamphlet, one eyewitness said that the perpetrators were so well prepared and outnumbered the VHP members and policemen that there was no way this was not a preplanned conspiracy. They had stones ready on rooftops to attack us, they said. “We were about 5-6 thousand of us in the Shobha Yatra. Despite such huge number, imagine how well prepared they were to attack us and have the confidence that they will get away with it,” he said.
A VHP leader, while speaking to The Pamphlet also mentioned how bullets were sprayed at the rally and stones were pelted from the rooftops. “They were fully prepared,” she reiterated.
Mewat Violence
On 31 July, 2023, a Jalabhishek Shobha Yatra was to be carried out in Mewat’s Nuh in Haryana for the Somvar on the holy month of Shravan. However, Muslim mobs started pelting stones and attacked the procession. The attack was planned as it was earlier spread on social media that Monu Manesar was to attend the procession. Manesar is an accused in killing of two Muslim youth in February this year. The elaborate planning on social media and subsequent attack on procession was planned and executed to take the ‘revenge’ on Monu Manesar, who did not even visit Nuh on 31 July 2023.
