On Monday, 31 July, 2023, a Shobha Yatra carried out by VHP was attacked in Nuh region in Haryana. Nuh is part of the Mewat region which is spread across Rajasthan and Haryana. Mewat region is notorious for crimes such as forced religious conversion, illegal cow slaughter and illegal Rohingya settlements.
The VHP had planned its annual Shobha Yatra from Nalhad Mahadev Temple to be concluded at Shringar Temple, Punhana. However, members of Muslim community resorted to stone pelting and attacked the procession.
Monu Manesar, who leads a network of gau rakshaks, was also supposed to attend the event. However, the Islamists in Mewat were ready to attack the procession and had even issued threats against Manesar.
Here are some of the posts made prior to the Shobha Yatra, threatening Monu Manesar of reaching Mewat.
The Pamphlet investigation has found that this attack on the Shobha Yatra was an elaborate plan.
One Mohd Sabir Khan, on Sunday, 30 July, 2023 posted on Facebook a video wherein he had put up series of gas cylinders.
In another post, Khan had suggested that the VHP and Bajrang Dal vehicles be tailed in such a way that some are driving ahead of them while others drive behind them. He even urged that the crowd gathered should outnumber the VHP people attending Shobha Yatra.
Here is one Arbaz Khan Dahngal posting live updates of the cavalcade of VHP members en route to Mewat. As can be seen, he has shared a video recorded on a bike tailing the vehicle of VHP members.
Here is one Aaysha Nawaj sharing live updates of the procession having left Faridabad for Mewat. She is ‘appealing’ for peace as the group she accuses of spreading communalism has left for Mewat. Her post was shared almost 400 times by the time of this report.
However, these are some of the replies in the comments section which say how they were prepared for violence.
Here are some of the Muslim residents of Mewat saying how they are ready for the VHP members arriving for the procession. Some said they are ready with stretchers while some were asking for further live updates.
Here is one Azhar Raniya urging Mewat residents to drive their cars for the honour of Mewat and not for themselves on 31st July – the day of Shobha Yatra.
The comments under the post said how for the smart ones, just a hint is enough. Could it be possible they were planning accidental deaths? Some comments suggest so.
One Shahid Khan suggested that in accident, there is no case and one gets bail easily. 10 people expressed joy and liked the post.

There are many many such posts on Facebook which shows the entire violence was planned. However, many such posts are now deleted to remove traces of how the attack on Hindus was planned and executed with such alarming precision.
